Kharthik Rao Represents Imperial at District-Level Chess Championship

Imperial International School extends its heartfelt congratulations to Kharthik Rao A/L Mohana Rao, who proudly represented the school at the Kejohanan Catur MSSD Kinta Utara 2025, competing in the Boys Under 12 category. In a challenging tournament featuring 384 participants from schools across the district, Kharthik earned a remarkable 104th place, showcasing both perseverance and strategic prowess.

Chess is a game that demands more than just intellect — it cultivates discipline, foresight, decision-making, and emotional control. By taking part in high-level competitions such as this, students like Kharthik are not only refining their cognitive skills but also learning to navigate pressure, adapt to dynamic situations, and bounce back from setbacks — all of which are critical traits for success in life.

Kharthik’s participation and achievement highlight the importance Imperial places on holistic education. Beyond academic excellence, the school encourages students to engage in co-curricular and competitive activities that nurture their personal growth and character development. Chess, in particular, is promoted as a valuable avenue to instil resilience and mental agility in young learners.

“Kharthik’s performance reflects the values we uphold at Imperial — courage, commitment, and continuous self-improvement,” said Mr Tristan Brendon Tann, Deputy Principal. “We are proud to see our students embracing new challenges and making the most of every learning opportunity, both in and beyond the classroom.”

Imperial International School remains committed to providing platforms for students to explore their passions and talents. Whether in sports, the arts, leadership or academic competitions, each experience is a stepping stone toward becoming confident, well-rounded individuals.

Congratulations once again, Kharthik. Your journey has just begun, and we look forward to seeing you grow from strength to strength!
