Mr. Shawn Shim holds a Master of Education from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a Bachelor of Education (TESOL) from Macquarie University, Australia, and a Diploma in Teaching and Training from Cambridge, United Kingdom. With over 16 years of experience in the education sector, he is a respected leader in school development, education consulting, and teacher training.
Mr. Shawn has held Principal and senior leadership roles in top Cambridge schools across Indonesia, Singapore, and most recently, Kuala Lumpur. He brings with him extensive expertise in both the Cambridge and IB academic programmes. In addition to his international school leadership, he has contributed to national education transformation projects in Malaysia, including roles in the ‘Sekolah Amanah’ initiative and as an English coach for B40 national schools. Mr. Shawn is passionate about cultivating high-impact learning environments and leading schools toward continuous improvement and academic excellence.
Mr Tristan has been involved in international education since 2017, with over nine years of experience in both teaching and school leadership. He currently serves as Deputy Principal and Academic Coordinator, where he plays a key role in shaping a school culture grounded in academic excellence, character development, and meaningful learning.
With a strong passion for English education and curriculum design, Mr Tristan is committed to empowering students to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop into confident, compassionate individuals. His educational philosophy focuses on nurturing student potential and preparing learners to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and globalised world.

Norfazilatun is a secondary educator with 29 years of teaching experience, currently specialising in Malay Language and Global Perspectives. She also serves as Head of the Examination Department, where she is responsible for the coordination and management of both internal and external assessments.
She believes that language learning is a gateway to knowledge and adopts a student-centred approach that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application. Outside the classroom, Norfazilatun leads an NGO focused on the welfare and protection of stray animals, and actively encourages student involvement in community service. Her dedication to education and civic responsibility reflects her commitment to nurturing compassionate, socially aware learners.
Sarah Banu brings over 21 years of experience as an Early Years practitioner in an international school setting. She is deeply passionate about early childhood education and finds great fulfilment in supporting the growth and development of young learners during their formative years.
She believes that educators are lifelong learners and is committed to continuously refining her practice through creative lesson planning and innovative teaching methods. Her goal is to create a nurturing and engaging environment where every child feels supported, inspired, and excited to learn. As Head of Early Years, Sarah is dedicated to fostering a strong foundation that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love for learning.
Bavani Nandakumal is Head of the Science and Mathematics Department and an experienced educator with 15 years of teaching across both primary and secondary levels. She has taught a range of subjects including Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Malay Language, PSHE, and Business Studies. Her specialisation in Mathematics has helped students develop strong subject confidence through engaging and supportive instruction.
She adopts a student-centred approach that promotes critical thinking, real-life problem-solving, and holistic development—academically, socially, and emotionally. Her classroom environment is positive, structured, and responsive to learners’ needs, where students feel both challenged and supported. Outside the classroom, Bavani is known for her strong rapport with students and her role as a trusted mentor. She was recognised with a ‘Conflict Resolver’ award during a Teacher’s Day ceremony, reflecting her ability to listen, guide, and provide emotional support. She is respected for her balance of approachability and firm guidance, helping students grow with confidence and care.
Mr. Mogantherenbrings over 16 years of experience in the education sector, primarily across both Primary and Secondary levels. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles, including Head of School Operations, Senior Assistant, Senior Leader for Student Affairs, Head of Department, Secondary Coordinator, CCA Coordinator, and Level Leader.
He has extensive experience teaching Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Business Studies, and Accounting. Mr. Mogantherenis deeply passionate about teaching and is committed to helping students acquire new knowledge and skills. In his classroom, he integrates 21st-century teaching approaches and technology through activity-based learning to develop students’ character, creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
Guided by the words of Ignacio Estrada, “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn,” Mr. Mogantheren believes that every student learns differently, and that teachers should adapt their approaches to support each learner effectively.

Ms. Azira is a dedicated educator with a strong passion for nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and innovation through Art and Design education. She has been teaching Art and Design since 2017, gaining extensive experience across several international schools in Malaysia and working with students from primary to secondary level, including the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.

Lawrence Peh is a secondary teacher specialising in Physics and Humanities. Amy Kok Yoke Chuen is a Mandarin language teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience, including six years at Imperial International School. She specialises in IGCSE Chinese First Language, Second Language, and Mandarin as a Foreign Language.

Ashveena Kaur is a dedicated school counsellor, SEN teacher, and Primary PSHE educator with a strong commitment to supporting the holistic development of every student. Gayathri A/P Vijayan is a Primary English teacher who has served in multiple roles since joining Imperial International School in 2022, including Homeroom Teacher, Assistant Homeroom Teacher, Library Coordinator, Primary Exam Coordinator, and CCA Teacher Advisor. These varied responsibilities have shaped her holistic approach to teaching and strengthened her commitment to student-centred learning.

Teh Julie is an experienced educator with over 17 years of teaching expertise, specialising in the national curriculum (KSSM), Cambridge Lower Secondary Science and Mathematics (Checkpoint), IGCSE Biology, and IGCSE Combined Science. Ilyana specialises in teaching Malay Language across a range of curricula, including SPM, Cambridge IGCSE, UEC, and the IB, and has also taught History at the secondary level. She currently teaches Malay Language at both the primary and secondary levels, where she is committed to creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences that develop students’ language proficiency, confidence, and critical thinking skills.

Dr Maryam holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, specialising in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), along with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in TESL. She is an English language teacher with expertise in EFL, ESL, EAL and IELTS preparation, with over 22 years of teaching experience. Her international teaching career spans the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Southeast Asia, where she has taught students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
She firmly believes that every student, regardless of their ability, language proficiency or background, can achieve their full potential when they feel safe, valued, and receive the right opportunities and support.
