Imperial International School was transformed into a vibrant world of literature, imagination, and performance as students and staff came together to celebrate World Book Day 2025. Themed around storytelling and creative expression, this year’s celebration was nothing short of magical — an inspiring showcase of collaboration, talent, and a shared love for reading.
In the spirit of House pride and teamwork, each House took on the exciting challenge of creating a life-sized book that represented their chosen story. The final creations were not only visually stunning but also reflected thoughtful interpretations of beloved tales, bringing colour and character to every corner of the school. These immersive displays served as both artistic centrepieces and educational talking points throughout the day.
Students also arrived in costumes of their favourite book characters, filling the campus with wizards, detectives, adventurers, and fantastical creatures. Each House then performed lively skits, re-enacting iconic scenes from their chosen books. These performances showcased not only theatrical flair but also deep engagement with narrative, character, and dramatic expression — reinforcing the learning behind the fun.
This year’s World Book Day also featured a friendly inter-house competition, with judges evaluating each House’s creativity, presentation, teamwork, and overall impact. Emerald Eagles soared above the rest to be crowned champions, impressing everyone with their cohesive storytelling, expressive acting, and imaginative set design.
More than just a day of fun, the event reflected Imperial’s strong commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. By encouraging creative expression, collaborative learning, and deeper engagement with texts, World Book Day 2025 helped develop essential 21st-century skills — from communication and empathy to critical thinking and cultural appreciation.
“This year’s World Book Day wasn’t just about costumes or performances,” said Mr Tristan Brendon Tann, Deputy Principal. “It was about immersing ourselves in the joy of stories and recognising the power of books to shape our thinking. We are proud of how our students embraced the event with such energy, creativity, and heart.”
The school extends heartfelt thanks to all students, teachers, and staff for their enthusiasm and hard work — and to parents for their support in making the day a success.
Congratulations once again to the Emerald Eagles and to all who made World Book Day 2025 truly unforgettable. Here’s to the many stories yet to be told!
